The Cowboys appear to be attempting to make some room as the 2025 NFL Draft approaches.
DALLAS — The Dallas Cowboys have restructured star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb’s contract in an effort to free up some cap space, according to a report from ESPN’s Todd Archer.
Archer noted that the restructuring of Lamb’s four-year $136 million contract, which he signed in August 2024, would help the Cowboys free up $20 million in salary cap space.
The details of the restructuring aren’t entirely clear yet, however, Archer reported that Lamb will still take $38.6 million of cap space in 2026.
The Cowboys’ Pro Bowl receiver is coming off a challenging season in which he was asked to do a lot without starting quarterback Dak Prescott, all while managing his own injuries. Still, Lamb totaled more than 1,100 receiving yards and six touchdowns, despite missing the final two games with a lingering shoulder injury.
Many speculate that this contract restructuring was made to get the wheels in motion on a contract for defensive leader Micah Parsons, one of the league’s top edge rushers. After news of the contract restructure broke, Lamb responded to a post on X, saying “I want to win. It’s gonna take more than just myself.”
