Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic’s home hit in $23k jewelry heist

There has been a wave of break-ins at homes of professional athletes in the past few months.

DALLAS — The home of Dallas Mavericks star guard was burglarized on Friday, according to longtime NBA correspondent Marc Stein, citing a police report.

Doncic’s business manager Lara Beth Seager told Stein “no one was home at the time and thankfully Luka and his family are safe.”

Doncic filed a police report and an investigation is ongoing, Stein reported.

The Dallas Police Department told WFAA its officers responded to Doncic’s home at approximately 10:30 p.m. Friday for a burglary call, and the officers “determined unknown suspects entered the property and took items.”

There have been many break-ins at athletes’ homes recently, most notably Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, as well as Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis Jr

In late November, the NBA issued a memo to its players about being alert for burglaries after the break-ins at homes of the NFL players.

We’ll update this story as we learn more information.
