DALLAS — The Dallas Stars’ offseason moves continued Thursday.
Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced Thursday afternoon that the club traded forward Mason Marchment to the Seattle Kraken for a 2026 third-round draft pick and a 2025 fourth-round pick.
Marchment was originally undrafted and signed by the Stars as a free agent in 2022, according to the team.
“For the electric goals, the Mush Smushes, and every moment in between, thank you for everything, Mason,” the Stars posted on social media. “Best of luck in Seattle.”
The Associated Press reports Marchment was traded as the final year of his contract carried a $4.5 million salary cap hit.
Marchment, 30, skated in 62 regular-season games with Dallas in 2024-25 and recorded 47 points (22-25—47). He helped the Stars reach the Western Conference Final during each of his three seasons in Dallas.
During the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Marchment posted five points (1-4—5) in 18 contests.
During his three seasons with the Stars, Marchment racked up 131 points (56-75—131) in 211 regular-season games and 16 points (8-8—16) in 49 postseason contests.
“I think Mason has a unique combination of size, skill and strength,” Kraken General Manager Jason Botterill said in an interview Thursday. “He works well down in the corners and around the net and that’s an element we want to continue to add to our group here.”
The announcement came the same day the team announced forward Matt Duchene was signed to a four-year contract extension.
