De’Aaron Fox aiming to bring more titles to San Antonio; Spurs great Johnny Moore’s local ABA team holding open tryouts

De’Aaron Fox commits to the Spurs with a four-year, $229 million extension, eyeing a championship with the team.

SAN ANTONIO — After he signed his contract extension with the San Antonio Spurs, guard De’Aaron Fox sent a message to Silver & Black fans – he is looking to add more title banners in the Frost Bank Center.

“What’s up Spurs fans? I just signed my extension. I’m ready to be here. I’m ready to get to work, and I’m trying to hang more banners,” the Spurs shared.

Fox inked a four-year, $229 million contract extension. The contract puts him in San Antonio through the end of the 2029-30 season and pairs him with Victor Wembanyama to form two foundational players the team can build around and hope to push to playoff success.

He averaged 19.7 points and 6.8 assists in 17 games with the Spurs last season. His season was cut short by injury. He had surgery in March to repair a tendon in his pinkie finger.
