Deep Dive with Sarah Forgany | How a Texas man’s hunt for the Red Heifer revived an ancient ritual

A Red Heifer was slaughtered in Israel for the first time in 2,000 years, sparking religious and political debates.

TEXAS, USA — For the first time in 2,000 years, a Red Heifer was slaughtered on July 1, 2025 and burned in Israel. It’s ashes were gathered, just as was written in the Old Testament.

For some, this was a historic and holy moment, a first step toward rebuilding the Third Temple and a fulfillment of a prophecy. It may also mean the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

But, even with Judaism, some rabbi’s question the ritual’s legitimacy and even the purity of the heifer itself. And critics including Jewish, Christian and Muslim scholars, warn of darker consequences: the end of days, World War III, and the rise of the Antichrist.

The temple’s remnants lie under one of the holiest sites in Islam. To rebuild it some fear it would mean the destruction of one of the holiest sites in Islam, The Dome of the Rock.

So what does this mean? Is it a prophecy unfolding or politics in motion or a dangerous mix of both? And what does this have to do with the U.S.?

The man who delivered the so-called pure heifers to Israel himself hails from Texas. He was present at the ancient ritual as it unfolded recently and he says his proof is in the video.

In Episode 4 of Deep Dive with Sarah Forgany, you’ll see the shocking video and hear from Byron Stinson as we unravel “The Hunt for the Red Heifer,” and what the ceremony could mean for the millions of Christians, Jews and Muslims.
