The would-be burglar was caught on camera trying to break into a home on the far northwest side of town Saturday.
SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) needs your help identifying a man who was caught on camera trying to break into a far northwest-side home.
BCSO deputies say that the suspect tried to break into the home located in the 800 block of Lovela Bend, near the intersection of Culebra Road and Galm Road around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The family was home at the time of the attmpted break-in. The entire incident was caught on camera.
The surveillance video shows a man first approaching the home and knocking on the front door. The residents inside did not respond, deputies say. Apparently the suspect assumed the home was vacant, because then he is seen trying to force the front door open with a crowbar.
One of the residents inside of the home began screaming and the suspect fled the location, according to BCSO.
During the incident the suspect is communicating with someone and is believed to be working with another individual, who is acting as a “lookout,” according to deputies.
The unidentified suspect is described as a heavyset man with a mustache, glasses, and tattoos on both forearms. He has a tattoo on his right forearm that says “Sofie” and “Rosa” on his left forearm.
You are asked to call the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office if you can identify the suspect.
You can call BCSO at (210) 335-6000 or email bcsotips@bexar.org with any information.
