BCSO says they are investigating the murder of 17-year-old Landyn Reyes and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) is asking the community for help finding a gunman who fired shots at a party on the far west side of Bexar County early Sunday morning, killing a teenager.
Sheriff Javier Salazar said deputies responded to a call for at least 20 shots fired in and around a vacant home on the 3900 block of Rock Mill Dam around 1 a.m.
Upon arrival, deputies found 17-year-old Landyn Reyes dead in the backyard from gunshot wounds.
Salazar says it is unknown at this time who the shooter is but there were well over 100 people in attendance and BCSO is urging anyone who knows what happened to call 210-335-6000. You can remain anonymous.
Salazar says this act of violence is part of a growing trend where young people are utilizing vacant homes for parties often involving narcotics and firearms, calling it a “recipe for disaster.”
He encourages the community and home builders to remain vigilant and report any similar activity at vacant homes.
Salazar says BCSO will continue to investigate Landyn’s murder and plans to put out a new portal utilizing new technology where people can send in video to help drive new leads.
