Dirt bike rider seriously hurt in hit-and-run crash on west side

A 24-year-old dirt bike rider was seriously injured after being hit by a dark-colored SUV in a hit-and-run crash on the west side of town, police say.

SAN ANTONIO — SAN ANTONIO — Police are searching for the driver of an SUV involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a young man seriously injured Saturday night on the west side of San Antonio.

Officers were called to the intersection of West Martin Street and North Trinity around 8:10 p.m. for a major accident.

According to San Antonio police, a 24-year-old man was riding a motorized dirt bike eastbound on West Martin when a driver in a dark-colored SUV failed to yield the right of way and struck him.

Investigators say the driver did not stop to help and fled the scene.

The dirt bike rider was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. His current condition has not been released.

No arrests have been made, and police have not released a description of the driver.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact San Antonio police.
