Disabled Outdoorsmen USA to host annual banquet honoring founder’s ‘Never Quit’ legacy

Disabled Outdoorsmen USA will host its annual banquet Feb. 28 in Helotes to honor founder T.J. Duperier and support adaptive outdoor programs.

HELOTES, Texas — A Boerne-based nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities experience the outdoors is preparing for its biggest fundraiser of the year, one that carries special meaning in 2026.

Disabled Outdoorsmen USA, a 501(c)(3) organization founded in the Hill Country, provides adaptive outdoor opportunities through hunts, fishing trips, weekend retreats and events designed to build confidence, connection and community.

The group will hold its 5th Annual Disabled Outdoorsmen USA Banquet on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, at Pedrotti’s Ranch in Helotes.

Organizers say the evening will include a three-course dinner, open bar, silent and live auctions, raffles, guest speakers and stories from participants whose lives have been impacted by the organization’s mission.

This year’s banquet will honor the life and legacy of founder T.J. DuPerier, who lived with muscular dystrophy and created the organization with a simple goal: helping others facing challenges experience the outdoors in a way they never thought possible.

In a Facebook post shared by the nonprofit in June 2025, Disabled Outdoorsmen USA described DuPerier as “the heartbeat of our mission,” saying his grit and belief in the phrase “Never Quit” inspired and transformed countless lives.

T.J. DuPerier, who lived with muscular dystrophy and created this organization with a simple and powerful goal, was featured five years ago on Great Day SA.

The organization said his spirit continues to live on through every hunt, adventure and participant served in his honor.

Every dollar raised during the banquet will support adaptive equipment, participant travel, property access and year-round programming for individuals with disabilities.
