BANDERA COUNTY, Texas — An investigation is underway after human remains were discovered Friday evening in Bandera County, according to authorities.
The Bandera County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a location off of Wharton’s Dock Road around 6 p.m. after receiving a report of suspected human remains. Upon arrival, deputies confirmed the discovery of skeletal at the scene.
Investigators with the sheriff’s office and the Texas Rangers responded to assist with the investigation, officials said. Multiple pieces of evidence, including the remains, were collected and will be sent for forensic processing and identification.
Law enforcement cleared the scene around 8 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office.
The Bandera County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains ongoing but added there is no threat to the community. Updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
