District 8 Councilwoman Ivalis Meza-Gonzalez is set to return to court for a pre-trial hearing in her DWI case stemming from a July arrest.
SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio District 8 Councilwoman Ivalis Meza-Gonzalez is scheduled to return to court Tuesday morning for a pre-trial hearing tied to her driving while intoxicated charge from last summer.
The hearing is set for 9 a.m.
Meza-Gonzalez was arrested July 24, 2025, after San Antonio police said she was driving slowly and drifting in and out of the shoulder on Interstate 10. Body camera video released weeks later shows officers conducting field sobriety tests before taking her into custody.
According to court records, she is charged with driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol concentration of more than 0.15 — nearly twice the legal limit.
During her previous court appearance, a judge declined to revoke her driver’s license.
Following her arrest, Meza-Gonzalez was suspended from her City Council committee assignments and formally censured by fellow council members.
In a statement released afterward, she said she regretted disappointing the community and pledged to take full responsibility for her actions.
KENS 5 will be in the courtroom Tuesday and will provide updates as the case continues.
