Dive team recovers body of 20-year-old man at Lake Lewisville, officials say

WFAA chopper footage showed boats searching the water Friday afternoon and a large presence at the lake.

LITTLE ELM, Texas — A dive team recovered the body of a 20-year-old man at Lake Lewisville Friday evening, according to the Little Elm Fire Department.

Texas Game Wardens in Denton County and the Lewisville Fire Department dive team were called to search for a “possible drowning victim” at Little Elm Park on Lake Lewisville around 12:30 p.m., officials say.

Texas Game Wardens said the man was last seen swimming between the shoreline and swim area buoys near the volleyball courts.

WFAA chopper footage showed boats searching the water and a large presence on the scene.

“Please keep all involved in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,” Little Elm FD said in a post on Facebook.
