SAN ANTONIO — A man escaped from an early morning fire on the west side early Tuesday after he said his dog alerted him that something was wrong. When crews arrived, one home was completely engulfed by flames, and there was concern the fire may spread to a second home on the right.
A Brandeis High School instructional assistant had died after he fell and sustained a head injury during an interaction with a student earlier this month, Northside ISD officials said.
Alfred Jimenez, 73, known as “Mr. Fred” in his Applied Learning Environment (ALE) classroom, worked with students who have moderate to severe cognitive disabilities. Jimenez had worked for the district since 2014.
