
Several fire crews responded to a house fire on the northwest side and were not only able to save the family’s dog, but possibly their and their neighbors’ homes.
SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Fire Department says they were able to save a family’s dog and possibly theirs and their neighbors’ home after a fire broke out on the northwest side.
Around 5:30 p.m., SAFD responded to the 5300 block of San Simeon after receiving reports of a structure fire.
Preliminary reports from officials suggests upon arrival, a heavy fire began spreading to a neighboring home and a second alarm was requested as a precaution.
SAFD says they were able to rescue the family’s dog and put out the flames in just under 30 minutes.
Officials aren’t reporting any injuries as of now and investigators are still searching a the cause of the fire.
