SAN ANTONIO — Giving blood this month could come with a “suite” reward.
The South Texas Blood & Tissue is teaming up with the San Antonio Spurs to encourage donations during March with a special giveaway.
Anyone who donates blood at select community drives will be entered for a chance to win two suite tickets to the Spurs’ March 19 game against the Indiana Pacers.
As an added thank-you, donors will also receive a Spurs T-shirt, a $10 Rudy’s BBQ voucher and a weekender bag.
Blood centers say donations often drop during spring break as schools close and families travel, but the need for blood remains constant.
For patients like 11-year-old Lyric, that generosity can make a life-changing difference. Lyric requires regular blood transfusions as she continues battling Sickle cell disease.
Organizers say the incentives are meant to both thank donors and encourage the community to help maintain a strong blood supply for local hospitals.
