Crews were able to contain the fire to one residence, officials said.
TEMPE, Ariz. — A child and an adult were found dead after a mobile home fire in Tempe, officials with the city fire department announced.
According to early reports, firefighters were called to a mobile home park near Baseline and Kyrene roads. When they arrived, they found one of the homes “engulfed heavily in fire,” Assistant Chief Andrea Glass said.
Crews were able to stop the fire from spreading. First responders took two adults and one child to the hospital in critical condition.
The victims were found inside the home. Their identities haven’t been disclosed at this time. The relation of the people in the home is currently unclear.
Fire investigators aren’t sure if the smoke detectors in the home were working. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
12News obtained security camera video from a neighbor showing the moment the home went up in flames. Neighbors say it all happened very quickly.
Tempe police say a man, a woman, and an 18-month-old child remain in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. They encourage anyone with information on how the cause of the fire to come forward and call (480) 350-8311. They say callers may remain anonymous.
An official cause remains under investigation.
