SAN ANTONIO — The owner of a downtown coffee shop is asking for your help after someone passing by the business threw a rock at their window on Sunday, shattering the glass.
It happened around 2 p.m. at Olla Express Café located at 821 East Quincy Street, near East Jones Avenue.
The owner shared on Facebook that, “we heard a crash and found one of our windows broken, with glass everywhere, making it unsafe to even enter the room.”
Thankfully, nobody was injured by the flying shards of glass.
“Thanks to our neighbors, we were able to figure out this wasn’t just a spontaneous glass breakage or a bird flying into the window,” said the Facebook post.
The owner is understandably frustrated and says, “Some people think it’s easy to build a business, and others think it is easier to destroy it.”
A police report was filed with SAPD. Police say footage from a nearby camera shows a man walking by and throwing a rock at the window, breaking it. The video does not show the suspect’s face.
The coffee shop owner is asking for help in identifying the man responsible.
“We don’t like to bring up issues like this, but we are just people trying our hardest to make our dreams come true,” said the owner. “At the end of the day, this hurts, plain and simple.”
If you have any information about the individual responsible, please contact SAPD at (210) 207-7273.
