Dozens say ‘I do’ at Bexar County Courthouse in free Valentine’s Day mass wedding ceremony

Love took center stage as dozens of couples tied the knot at a free Valentine’s Day mass wedding at the Bexar County Courthouse, followed by a celebration.

SAN ANTONIO — Love is in the air! Dozens of couples tied the knot just after midnight on Saturday during a free Valentine’s Day mass wedding ceremony hosted at the Bexar County Courthouse.

The first of three ceremonies began when the clock struck midnight, with couples exchanging saying their I dos in front of family, friends and onlookers before celebrating with music and dancing.

The annual tradition is led by Bexar County Clerk Lucy Adame-Clark. The midnight ceremony included a celebratory first dance and music by Tejano artist Savannah V.

The weddings coincided with a festive Newlywed Block Party hosted nearby by Main Plaza Conservancy at Main Plaza featuring shopping, a DJ, dancing and honeymoon-style giveaways for newly-married couples and attendees, according to a press release.

Raffle prizes included hotel stays, restaurant experiences and themed gift baskets donated by local businesses, organizers said.

Couples who married also received goodie bags with promotions from local businesses.

The overnight celebration ran from Friday evening at 8 p.m. through midnight into Valentine’s Day, blending romance, community spirit and a uniquely San Antonio tradition for newlyweds starting their next chapter together.

Additional ceremonies are scheduled for 10 a.m. and noon on Saturday.

Congratulations to the newlyweds!
