DPS: 21-year-old dies in head-on crash in Kendall County

The crash shut down a stretch of Highway 46 in the Boerne area for a few hours Tuesday evening.

BOERNE, Texas — State officials say a 21-year-old died when the sedan he was driving crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a truck head-on Tuesday afternoon in Kendall County.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) said it was unclear why Jimmy Antonio Ruiz Morazan, a Bandera man, crossed the double-yellow lines before ramming into a pickup truck in the 300 block of Highway 46 West. Morazan, the only one in his car, died at the scene.

Authorities responded to the area at 3:37 p.m. Officials said the driver and sole occupant in the truck involved was released on scene after being treated.
