MARTIN COUNTY, Texas — A Florida man is dead after he was run over by his vehicle that veered off the roadway in Martin County on Tuesday morning, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The fatal crash happened along County Road D5100 at 10:54 a.m.
Preliminary information from DPS revealed that 39-year-old Osvaldo Fernandez, driving a 2017 Peterbilt truck with a towed trailer, was going westbound on County Road D5100 when he veered off the roadway.
DPS said that for unknown reasons, Fernandez jumped out of the truck and was run over by the rear axles.
Fernandez died at the scene, DPS said.
The crash is still under investigation, and no more information is available right now.
