DPS: More than 400 ounces of meth seized in Bexar County traffic stop

The driver allegedly admitted to Texas troopers to “having ‘some kind of drugs.'”

SAN ANTONIO — A traffic stop in the San Antonio area resulted in a major drug bust, state authorities say.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), anti-gang troopers with the agency contacted the driver during the Bexar County stop, at which point he allegedly “admitted to having ‘some kind of drugs.'”

A K-9 officer arrived to investigate further and eventually uncovered 413 ounces of methamphetamine, DPS says. The driver, who wasn’t identified, was arrested and allegedly has “multiple prior deportations.”

It’s unclear if they were in the country illegally at the time of the traffic stop. DPS also didn’t specify when the traffic stop happened, but the suspect faces a felony charge of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.
