Drake picks up tabs for guests dining at Houston restaurants on Valentine’s Day

In honor of their new album, “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U,” Drake and PartyNextDoor treated some patrons at Juliet Steakhouse and Bungalow Downtown Dining to a free dinner.

HOUSTON — Guests dining out at Houston restaurants on Valentine’s Day got a sweet surprise from a popular Canadian music duo.

In honor of their new album, “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U,” released on Valentine’s Day, Drake and PartyNextDoor treated some patrons at Juliet Steakhouse and Bungalow Downtown Dining to a free dinner.

Staff at Juliet Steakhouse said Drake’s team reached out to the owner, Jamie Allen, to make this happen. When more than half of the diners expected checks, they were told instead that Drake and PartyNextDoor had covered the bill.

At Bungalow, personal members of Drake’s team went table to table to surprise guests with an unexpected Valentine’s Day gift. The total bill covered by the artists was about $10,000.

In September 2023, Drake announced during one of his Houston concerts that he had bought a home in the area. He said he had been looking for a long time for “the right place” for him to live where he belongs outside of Toronto.

In a social media post the rapper later deleted, he said he bought a ranch, complete with 10 horses on the outskirts of Houston.

Drake has expressed his love for the Bayou City throughout his musical career, often referencing it in his music. His latest project, “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U,” includes the track “Raining in Houston,” adding to a list of Houston-inspired songs from previous albums, such as “November 18th” and “Houstatlantavegas.”
