Drake seen wearing rare Rangers hat that got axed over design controversy

Drake ended up with one, or maybe just borrowed it for a quick picture.

DALLAS — Well, we know where one of those limited-edition, high-priced Rangers hats that were pulled because of an inadvertent Spanish vulgarity ended up.

Drake was apparently a fan of the design.

The rap star posted a picture on his Instagram story Monday night of him wearing the infamous cap, which was posted for sale earlier this year but then quickly pulled by Major League Baseball. The problem with the hat is that the design – which was the same for every team in the league – took the team logo and placed it over the team’s location. So, in the Rangers’ case, the “T” was placed over the middle of “Texas.”

The result was a cap that appeared to spell out the Spanish word for female breasts.

Social media quickly caught onto this snafu, and the hats were pulled from the MLB and Rangers online stores. But not before a few got purchased and shipped out. The hats that actually made it to their buyer were then resold on eBay for hundreds of dollars (up to $1,000 in at least one instance).

Long story short, Drake ended up with one, or maybe just borrowed one for a quick picture.

A couple things here: Drake might have bought a home in the Houston area, but he’s jumping on the Rangers bandwagon (or maybe it’s just the hat). But also: Beware of the Drake curse in sports. The last thing a losing team sees is Drake showing up to their game, wearing their gear. Good luck with that.
