SAN ANTONIO — A business on the Northeast Side was damaged Monday morning after a vehicle crashed into the building, according to authorities.
The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. in the 4900 block of Walzem Road, near Loop 410.
A witness who spoke with KENS 5 off camera said an elderly couple was attempting to park when the driver accidentally hit the gas pedal, sending the vehicle through the storefront. The car reportedly traveled between two columns, went into the business and then came back out the other side.
The business was open at the time, but fortunately, no one inside was injured.
Fire and EMS crews responded to the scene. An elderly woman was evaluated by EMS, but no one was transported to the hospital.
The Windcrest Police Department is investigating the crash.
