WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa — Emergency crews in West Burlington responded to a call on Thursday evening after a vehicle became partially submerged in Swan Lake.
Officials responded to the lake just after 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2 in the 500 block of N. Sunset Drive. Emergency responders discovered a driver and his dog still inside the vehicle when they arrived.
The vehicle was upright and submerged in one to two feet of water. Officials said the driver had tried unsuccessfully to maneuver the vehicle out of the water.

The driver was transported to the West Burlington Fire Station, where he waited for dry clothes and a ride home. All emergency units cleared the scene by 8:24 p.m.
