The Zavala County Sheriff’s Office said the driver was later found to be wanted in Maverick County.
ZAVALA COUNTY, Texas — The Zavala County Sheriff’s Office said a driver was arrested on Sunday after an undocumented man was found hidden in the back of a vehicle.
Officials said a deputy patrolling US Highway 57 east of Batesville conducted a traffic stop on a blue Jeep for an expired registration.
During a search of the vehicle, officials said the deputy discovered a male inside a large zippered bag in the back cargo area of the Jeep.
Zavala County officials said the driver was arrested and later found to be wanted in Maverick County. The undocumented male was released to U.S. Border Patrol.
