Driver dies after two-vehicle crash near North Star Mall, police say

Police say a 51-year-old man died after a Ford pickup crashed into another vehicle and then struck an unoccupied building on NW Loop 410.

SAN ANTONIO — A driver has died following a major crash involving two vehicles near North Star Mall Saturday afternoon, according to San Antonio police.

Officers were called around 11:15 a.m. to the 300 block of NW Loop 410, near San Pedro Avenue, for a reported collision.

Police said a Ford pickup truck collided with the rear of a Chevrolet Trailblazer. The Chevrolet continued into the driveway of a nearby commercial building.

Authorities said the Ford kept moving after the crash and struck an unoccupied building.

The driver of the Ford, identified as a 51-year-old man, was found unresponsive when officers arrived. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The investigation remains ongoing.
