Driver hits pedestrian at San Antonio crosswalk, SAPD searching for green Subaru driver

Police say the driver that hit him had been stopped at a red light, and when it turned green, he moved forward hitting the man.

SAN ANTONIO — Police say a man trying to the cross the street in a crosswalk on the northwest side of town was hit by a driver who didn’t stop early Sunday.

SAPD officers were dispatched to the intersection of West Hausman Road at Babcock Road around 12:45 a.m.

The victim, a 34-year-old man, was crossing the street using the marked crossing while the suspect sat at a red light. When the light turned green, the suspect accelerated and hit the man inside the crosswalk, causing him minor injuries. He did not need to go to the hospital.

The unidentified driver of the green Subaru failed to stop and render aid before fleeing the scene heading south on Babcock Road. 

When the driver is found they will be facing one charge of Collision Involving Injury. If you have any information, please call police.
