Driver hospitalized after head-on crash while fleeing police on north side, according to police

Police say alcohol may be a factor, but no charges have been filed as of Friday morning.

SAN ANTONIO — A driver is in the hospital with a head injury after fleeing police ended in a head-on crash on the north side, according to police.

Olmos Park police was trying to pull the male driver, in his 20s, just after 11:30 p.m. Thursday for a flat tire. That’s when police say the driver fled and crashed head on with another vehicle around the intersection of San Pedro and Fresno. He was taken to the hospital with serious head injuries.

The other driver that was hit was also taken to the hospital as a precaution with minor injuries.

Police say alcohol may be a factor, but no charges have been filed as of Friday morning.
