SAN ANTONIO — A woman was injured in a crash early Friday morning that damaged a duplex and knocked down a traffic light on the city’s north side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
SAPD said officers responded to the call around 4:30 a.m. at Vance Jackson Road and Storeywood Drive.
Investigators believe the crash may have been caused by a medical episode that led the driver to black out. Police said alcohol was not a factor.
According to police, the 20-year-old woman was driving northbound on Vance Jackson when she struck a red light pole, then hit a vehicle parked in a driveway. The parked vehicle was pushed into a nearby duplex, causing several thousand dollars in damage. The residents who live in that unit were not home at the time, police said.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital by family members, according to SAPD. She was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Police said northbound traffic on Vance Jackson at Storeywood will be closed for at least a few hours until the traffic lights are repaired.
The investigation remains ongoing.
