Driver ran off road, flipped over in pond on northeast side

One woman was taken to the hospital as a precaution. No word on what her injuries may have been.

SAN ANTONIO — A speeding driver ran off of the road and flipped upside down in a pond at a campground on the northeast side of San Antonio.

It happened around 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon in the 600 block of Gembler Road inside a gated community.

One woman was taken to the hospital as a precaution. No word on what her injuries may have been.

Officials are not sure where the driver originated but it appears she was not on a road. A police spokesman says she hit at an angle at a high rate of speed, and jumped over the road and hit and went down.

No word on an approximate age of the driver. No other vehicle were involved.

This is a developing story.
