Drug investigation leads to high-speed chase in San Antonio, suspect at large

Deputies were conducting a narcotics investigation on the west side when a man with felony warrants showed up, leading to the pursuit down Old Highway 90.

SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office was led on a high-speed chase on the west side before the alleged suspect eventually abandoned the vehicle and got away.

Around 2:30 p.m., BCSO deputies were assisting with a narcotics investigation when Silverio Miguel Salas, who allegedly has an active felony and misdemeanor warrant out for his arrest, arrived in a white Lexus SUV.

Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop before Salas allegedly drove away, leading to a pursuit.

BCSO says deputies pursued Salas for a few minutes in the area of Old Highway 90 and 151 before losing sight of him.

The vehicle was later located abandoned and unoccupied on the 600 block of South West 39th Steet.

There was allegedly no sign of Salas on the scene, but the vehicle was reportedly not listed as stolen after Texas towing arrived and processed the vehicle.

BCSO says additional charges will be filed on Salas.

This is an ongoing investigation.
