Dump truck driver severely injured in crash on I-10, police say

Officials say the driver lost control of his vehicle and collided with the barrier.

SAN ANTONIO — A dump truck driver was severely injured after colliding with the concrete barrier on I-10 Tuesday morning.

It happened around 7 a.m. on Interstate-10 near UTSA Boulevard.

Officers say the driver lost control of his vehicle and ran into the barriers after his vehicle caught fire.

Police say the 37-year-old driver was taken to the hospital in with non life-threatening injuries.

This is a developing story.

A vehicle fire on Interstate-10 at UTSA Boulevard is causing traffic to back up heading west. Avoid the area if possible.
