SAN ANTONIO — Experienced runners and casual strollers can lace up their shoes this Thanksgiving for the 2025 Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk.

The San Antonio Food Bank is hosting their annual racing event -in less than 100 days. The event will be held on November 27 (Thanksgiving Day), beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the H-E-B Commander’s House on 622 S. Flores Street.

The race is open to seasoned runners, casual joggers, and family and friends. The Thanksgiving tradition takes participants all across scenic parts of downtown San Antonio while also helping out a noble cause.

Registration

Early bird registration is now open for $40. If participants register in November prices are set at $45 while race day is $50. Children between the ages of four and 11 can also participate for $10. Every registration provides a turkey for a family facing hunger during the holiday season and directly supports the San Antonio Food Bank.

Packet pickup

Organizers encourage all attendees to register for an in-person packet pick up, but if you can’t, a shipping option is available. Packets include a Turkey Trot t-shirt, a finisher’s medal, and swag.

Packet pickup locations and details can be found here.

History

In 2024, organizers held a quinceañera for the Turkey Trot event to celebrate 15 years of family-fun tradition. Organizers say 2024 was the biggest event, so far – with over 7,700 runners and they raised more than 3.1 million meals for those in need.

San Antonio Food Bank hopes to break that record in 2025.
