Early morning train accident leaves man injured on south side, according to police

The man was walking eastbound on the train tracks on South Presa Street early Friday. That’s when police say, despite the horn being blown, he was hit by a train.

SAN ANTONIO — A man is in the hospital after police say he was hit by a train early Friday morning.

At about 1:40 a.m., the man in his 50s was walking eastbound on the train tracks around the 1800 block of South Presa Street.

That’s when police say a train, also traveling eastbound, blew its horn to alert the man it was traveling towards him.

It appears that the man didn’t hear the horn, and police say he was hit by the train. He was taken to the hospital with injuries to his ribs. It’s unknown his condition as of Friday morning.
