SAN ANTONIO — A deadly shooting late Monday has left an east side neighborhood on edge.

San Antonio police say the violence broke out just after 9 p.m. on Flying Hooves, where officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims died at the scene after being shot in the head. The other was struck in the arm and taken to the hospital, where he is expected to recover. Investigators believe both men were in their 20s.

When officers arrived, they began interviewing several witnesses and recovered multiple firearms from the area. Police say the incident appears to be isolated, but they have not released any information about a possible suspect or what may have led up to the shooting.

Nearby residents described the street as usually quiet and said the sudden gunfire was alarming.

“I think my son was outside on the porch and said, ‘Hey, come get in the house. I heard gunshots, get in,’” said neighbor Leonetta Green. “And then less than five minutes later, there was silence. I said, ‘Okay, something has really happened.’ Then I just kept hearing more and more sirens.”

Police remain on the case and say the investigation is ongoing. KENS 5 will update this story as new information becomes available.
