East Texas man accused of giving 9-year-old package of gum containing cocaine arrested

He was transported to the Jasper County Jail.

JASPER, Texas — A man was arrested Sunday for allegedly giving a child gum with cocaine inside the package. 

Edward Hunt Sr., 72, was arrested by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies after they received a call relating to narcotics at the 900 block of Circle Drive in Jasper. 

Upon deputies arrival, they discovered Hunt had gone into a residence and gave a 9-year-old a package of gum containing what they believed to be cocaine. 

Hunt was then arrested on charges of endangering a child and delivery of a controlled substance. He was then transported to the Jasper County Jail.
