SAN ANTONIO — Fresh cuts for just five bucks? That’s exactly what students in Edgewood ISD are delivering this week, all while sharpening their own skills.
Cosmetology students from Edgewood Fine Arts Academy’s Class of 2026 will be offering $5 haircuts for children during a special community event at Loma Park Elementary.
The event is set for Wednesday, February 25, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Loma Park Elementary, located at 400 Aurora.
District leaders say the initiative is designed to blend hands-on learning with community service. Students will gain real-world experience in their cosmetology program while providing families with affordable, accessible haircut services.
The event also helps support student programs within the district, creating a win-win for young stylists and the families they serve.
Edgewood ISD officials say the afternoon will highlight not only technical skills, but also teamwork, professionalism and community pride.
