Employee shot during attempted robbery at Jack in the Box on south side of town, SAPD says

Police say a suspect shot a Jack in the Box employee during an attempted robbery early Sunday morning before fleeing on foot.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police are searching for a suspect after an employee was shot during an attempted robbery early Sunday morning on the city’s south side.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were called around 1:01 a.m. to a Jack in the Box in the 3700 block of South Zarzamora Street.

Police at the scene said a suspect attempted to rob employees inside the restaurant. During the robbery, the suspect shot one employee before running from the area on foot.

The injured employee was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive. Officers said the victim was in stable condition.

Police searched the surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspect.

Authorities said it is unclear whether the suspect was able to take any money or property from the restaurant.

No other injuries were reported.

San Antonio police, along with firefighters, EMS crews and crime scene investigators, responded to the scene as the investigation continues.
