Madrid said a detective informed her of the news Wednesday morning, explaining the truck was involved in a high-speed chase that turned into a rollover crash.
Madrid provided pictures of the mangled truck, which is now totaled.
There’s still no information about suspects and any arrests.
KENS 5 reached out to Texas DPS for comment and has yet to hear back.

What began as another busy Monday shift for one health professional turned into personal emergency when thieves were caught on surveillance stealing her truck from the hospital parking lot.
Mandi Madrid works as an emergency room tech at Baptist Neighborhood Hospital off Interstate 35 and Zarzamora.
On Monday, she took her husband’s silver 2017 Dodge Ram 3500 to the hospital and pulled in to the same spot where she parks her own vehicle, because it’s in view of security cameras.
It was around 6:43 p.m. when she made sure to lock the truck right before she entered the hospital. That was the last time she saw it in person.
Fast forward to the 10:00 hour, Madrid looked up at the surveillance screen and noticed her truck was missing.
In the moment, she didn’t believe it.
“So I got outside and I’m like, ‘Maybe I’m not seeing it,'” Madrid said. “And so I go out there and, sure enough, my truck is gone.”
Madrid filed a police report and reviewed the hospital’s surveillance footage, which revealed a white SUV pulling in at approximately 7:09 p.m., less than 30 minutes from the time she locked up the truck. The entire surveillance video wasn’t accessible for KENS 5 to view, but a screenshot of the white SUV was provided.
“Somebody goes through my driver’s side door, messes with the driver’s door and then they’re in there for about a minute. My truck backs out, the white SUV takes off and they both take off. Within less than a minute, at 7:09 p.m., my truck was stolen,” Madrid said.
San Antonio police are now investigating. Madrid noted an officer told her multiple vehicles have been stolen from the parking lot in recent days. KENS 5 is working to confirm this statement with authorities.
“He’s not happy, he’s devastated,” Madrid said.
The truck was equipped with a South Dakota license plate 2P3887.
