ESPN SportsCenter to broadcast live from UTSA this Thursday

ESPN’s SportsCenter will broadcast live from UTSA’s campus on Thursday, featuring Head Coach Jeff Traylor and spirited support from UTSA groups.

SAN ANTONIO — Sports fans, get ready! ESPN’s SportsCenter is rolling into the Alamo City to be broadcasted live from UTSA’s campus this Thursday.

UTSA Athletics announced that SportsCenter will air live from Rowdy Lawn in front of the Student Union on the Main Campus at 1 p.m. on Oct. 30, ahead of the Roadrunners face-off against Tulane. 

Head Coach Jeff Traylor is scheduled to be on set to do a live interview during the broadcast. Rowdy, UTSA Cheer and Pom squads along with the Spirit of San Antonio band will also be there in support of the team. 

Officials said attendees will receive several giveaways and the opportunity to be on national TV. The public will be able to use paid parking, located in the Tobin Avenue Garage or the Ximenes Avenue Garage. 

ESPN Anchor Matt Barrie will host this edition of SportsCenter and will also moderate a special 4 p.m. edition of SportsCenter live from inside the Alamodome ahead of the 6:30 p.m. game – set to air live on ESPN.

UTSA fell to North Texas 55-17 on Saturday, Oct. 18. Quarterback Owen McCown threw for 84 yards and a touchdown, completing 11 of 20 passes. Robert Henry had 138 rushing yards on 12 carries and one touchdown, while AJ Wilson added 35 receiving yards on four catches.

Guests can also purchase tickets for the UTSA game here, or by calling the UTSA Ticket Office at 210-458-UTSA (8872) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Students can receive free admission by downloading tickets from their account manager.
