Evacuation order issued as several house fires caused by high wind speeds spread across Bexar County

Officials said the fires are being driven by high wind speeds.

SAN ANTONIO — The Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office said multiple agencies have been responding to several house fires that are being driven by high wind speeds.

Fire departments from around the county, as well as ACSO Deputies and DPS Troopers have responded to several house fires in the area of Old Pleasanton Road and Big Leaf Road.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has issued a mandatory evacuation order for Interstate 37 / Southton Road and Duke Road areas as fires are spreading across south Bexar County.

The order includes the 600 Block of Duke Rd in South Bexar County between Trumbo Rd and Pleasanton Rd, where officials have responded to several house fires in the area.

Fire officials are urging people to avoid the area if possible and watch out for first responders if travel in the area is necessary.
