Shakira’s upcoming concert in San Antonio at the Alamodome on July 5 sparks preparations for the anticipated crowd.
SAN ANTONIO — The award-winning superstar Shakira will be in the Alamo City this Saturday after rescheduling her concert due to “structural issues” on June 13.
The new concert date is set for Saturday, July 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Alamodome.
She was originally scheduled to stop in multiple Texas cities including San Antonio on Friday, June 13. The Alamodome said they would be postponing the concert on their Facebook page shortly before 7 p.m. on June 13, less than 40 minutes before the highly anticipated show was set to begin. Venue officials chalked the development up to “structural issues” with Shakira’s stage.
Shakira’s team provided further details on the musician’s official Facebook page, saying they rely on “a third party who locally provides the infrastructure to support the stage and the ceiling from which my production hangs.” The post adds that the issue in question was related to a truss provided by that third party.
The city is now making preparations to handle the huge crowd expected to descend on the Alamodome for the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.
As for the San Antonio show, here is everything you need to know ahead of the big Saturday night.
