Everything you need to know about the March Madness Music Festival

The NCAA Final Four in San Antonio features a free March Madness Music Festival with Chris Stapleton, Pit Bull, and Jelly Roll on April 5-7.

SAN ANTONIO — One of the best things about hosting the NCAA Final Four in San Antonio is that the event brings some of the biggest names in the music industry right to our own backyard!

The March Madness Music Festival takes place April 5-7 at the Tower Park at Hemisfair in downtown San Antonio. The venue is in walking distance of the Alamodome where the Final Four games will take place. A Fan Festival will also take place at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.

This year’s headliners include A-listers Chris Stapleton, Pit Bull, and Jelly Roll.

 But, there is a lot you need to know before you head out the door for the festival. Here is what you should know:

Location:

The renovations at Hemisfair downtown are wrapping up just in time to host the massive festival at Tower Park, in the shadow of the Tower of the Americas.

Cost:

March Madness Music Festival is a non-ticketed event that is free and open to the public.  You will want to arrive early as the park will close to incoming guests if capacity is reached.

Parking: 

Parking in the downtown area will be very limited and likely to fill up quickly. Event organizers suggest taking advantage of VIA park and ride service from either Crossroads Park and Ride or the Blossom Athletic Center to the downtown area. Bus fare is $1.30 one way and $2.60 round trip.

Security:

The entire NCAA Final Four event, including the games at the Alamodome and the music festival, will all have the same bag policy. Bags must be clear unless they are small enough to qualify as a clutch purse.
