Families can enjoy holiday fun at The DoSeum with tiny trains, sock-skating, and ‘Noon Year’ celebration

As schools close for the holidays, The DoSeum offers a season of engaging, family-friendly activities in San Antonio.

SAN ANTONIO — As schools prepare to break for the holidays, The DoSeum is rolling out a full season of hands-on, family-friendly fun with plenty to explore now through early January.

From miniature worlds to sock-skating and a kid-friendly New Year’s celebration, here’s a look at what families can enjoy in the Alamo City at the kid-centric museum. 

The DoSeum Express: Tiny Trains and Trolleys

Open now through Jan. 8 | Included with admission

All aboard! The DoSeum Express is back, inviting visitors to explore whimsical miniature worlds created by the 2021 Artists-in-Residence. The exhibit winds through five imaginative lands, including a snowy mouse town, a mysterious cavern, and a colorful fairy village, all brought to life with tiny trains and trolleys.

Frostival at The DoSeum: Family-friendly sock-skating

Open now through Jan. 7 | Included with admission

Frostival brings winter-themed fun indoors with all of The DoSeum’s favorite exhibits plus seasonal surprises. Families can slide across a specially designed sock-skating rink and enjoy festive activities designed just for kids, making it a perfect stop during winter break.

Kids Countdown to the ‘Noon Year’

Wednesday, Dec. 31 | 10 a.m.–1 p.m. | Tickets: $25

Families can celebrate the New Year early with The DoSeum’s annual Kids Countdown. The event features face painting, music, dancing, snacks and a balloon drop at noon, so kids can join the fun without staying up past bedtime.

Tickets are $25, with DoSeum members receiving $5 off with a promo code.
