Legal representatives from the Gamez Law Firm say they will pursue “accountability and civil justice” after the deadly Sunday shooting.
SAN ANTONIO — The family of a 26-year-old man killed when gunfire erupted outside an Amazon fulfillment center in west San Antonio has hired lawyers from the Gamez Law Firm, who are expected to speak about the case Friday afternoon.
Katrael Delosier, 26, died from his injuries about an hour after officials said he was shot in the parking lot of the Amazon facility at Highway 90 West and Loop 1604 on Sunday night. Another man sustained injuries in the shooting, which allegedly stemmed from an argument between Amazon coworkers and concerns that one of them would retaliate with a gun.
The employee at the receiving end of that alleged threat called two other men for “backup,” according to arrest records. They arrived in a car and opened fire at the victims around 10 p.m. Sunday.
Those two suspects, 20-year-old David Morales Jr. and 21-year-old Jamari McKillion, were arrested Tuesday and both face murder charges. They are both still in jail as of Thursday night, each with a $300,000 bond.
Amazon officials previously said in a statement they were “heartbroken by the tragic loss of a valued member of our team,” adding the company was supporting the family, offering counseling to employees and adding additional security at the location.
Gamez lawyers will hold a press conference at their office at noon on Friday, accompanied by members of Delosier’s family. According to a press release, the law firm is “pursuing accountability and civil justice.”
