SAN ANTONIO — It’s been four days since the family of 15-year-old Iza Rodriguez have heard from her.
They said she walked out of her northwest-side home early Sunday morning and are concerned she may have met someone online posing as a juvenile.
Iza’s family said they fear the worst about her disappearance.
“With each day that passes it gets more scarier, the thoughts of where she is, or who’s she with or where she could be,” Gwendolyn Laport, Iza’s sister said.
Iza’s family said she left her home in the subdivision The Park at Vista Del Norte, leaving a back door open. It was the last time anyone has heard from her.
“She hasn’t reached out to any of her friends. She hasn’t reached out to any of us,” Laport said.
Gwendolyn said she took a few belongings, but didn’t take any clothes. She also said Iza left her phone behind, which showed some concerning activity.
“When we went through her phone, we realized that she was talking to stranger online,” Laport said.
Iza’s family said they’ve tried talking to her about the dangers of talking to strangers online, but feel someone may have taken advantage of her.
“Everyone was a teenager once, you know. You think you know everything in the world. It’s just so scary out there,” Laport said.
Iza’s disappearance has caused her family a lot of stress and they say they just want her back home.
“Please come home. We miss her, we love her. You know, I don’t know if she thinks that she’s gone this far, that she might be in more trouble. Like just come home. We’re very worried about her,” Laport said.
If you have any information about Iza’s whereabouts your urged to contact San Antonio Police’s Missing Person’s Unit at 210-207-7660.
