Family says human trafficking detective is investigating missing Houston woman’s disappearance

Angela Marisol Diaz was reported missing on July 2. Four months later, family is asking Houston police to keep pursuing the investigation.

HOUSTON — The parents of a missing woman last seen in southwest Houston in early July are asking for the community’s help.

Angela Marisol Diaz, 22, was reported missing on July 2 and her case is still being investigated by police. Since then, her family has learned some concerning developments.

The family said the case was reassigned to a human trafficking detective. They’ve also sought outside help to find Diaz.

“She will return home. I need your help bringing her back home,” Yesenia Diaz, Angela Diaz’s stepmom said.

The two parents are describing the past four months without their daughter.

“Hard, hard because we haven’t heard nothing from her,” Edward Diaz, Angela’s father told KHOU 11 News.

The family hired two private detectives and even asked Texas EquuSearch for help finding Angela.

They’ve posted fliers of Angela at a possible location her phone pinged the night she disappeared.

Houston police previously told KHOU 11 News that Angela’s last known location was on Park Place Boulevard near Galveston Road in southeast Houston.

They interviewed multiple people including a male acquaintance who saw Angela the night she disappeared.

With months having gone by, the family fears Angela is in need of help.

“I believe that she’s still alive and that someone has her, right now she doesn’t communicate, hasn’t communicated with nobody. And if you’re the police, what will it take to take the case seriously,” Edward Diaz said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Houston police.
