Jarvis McIntyre was last seen on June 8 near Holbrook Road between Rittiman Road and Corrine Drive.
SAN ANTONIO — 26-year-old Jarvis McIntyre from St. Louis flew down to San Antonio before his birthday weekend to visit his two sisters. He was supposed to return Sunday on June 9, but never made it home. He was last seen on June 8 near Holbrook Road between Rittiman Road and Corrine Drive.
His mom, stepdad, brother and aunt flew from St. Louis and since Wednesday have been putting up missing flyers searching for any sign of him.
“My hope is to take him home, to find him and take him home with me,” said Monikki Williams Tippet, Jarvis’ mom. “But to be completely honest with you, that’s fading, with every day that we’re here with no leads to where Jarvis is.”
McIntyre is a Navy veteran, who consistently posts on social media. When he didn’t respond to birthday messages Monday, and didn’t post anything his family knew something was wrong.
“Never would I have ever thought that I would be looking for a loved one,” said Wanetta Day, Jarvis’ aunt. “This is something that you see on TV on the regular. This is not something that you feel happens to your family.”
Since coming Wednesday, the family now knows the last cellphone ping was from a neighborhood behind Rittiman Road and Old Seguin Road. His rental car along with his belongings was found just a block away from John James Park off Holbrook Road.
On Friday, the San Antonio Police Department confirmed a body was found off Holbrook Road, but have not confirmed the cases are connected.
The family is continuing their search until they get answers.
“He is such a vibrant person with a very contagious smile,” Tippett said. “He has a beautiful heart. You know, and I just want him found. He loved people. He loved being around people and entertaining people.”
