Fans gather to cheer on Houston Coogs as the head to San Antonio to play Duke in the Final Four

Fans are set to cheer the team on as coach Kelvin Sampson and the Coogs load onto the bus for the trip to San Antonio.

HOUSTON — The Houston Cougars are set to take off Wednesday afternoon for San Antonio to play Duke in the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament this Saturday.

The team is scheduled to depart from the Guy V. Lewis Development Facility at the University of Houston at 1:30 p.m.

Fans are set to cheer the team on as coach Kelvin Sampson and the Coogs load onto the bus for the trip to San Antonio.

The Cougars pummeled Tennessee in a 69-50 win to earn their spot in the Final Four. The team will now play five-time national champ Duke on Saturday in San Antonio for a shot at the title. You can watch the game on KHOU 11! Tip-off is scheduled for 7:49 p.m. Central Time.

KHOU 11 is also hosting a watch party in downtown Houston as the Coogs take on Duke. The party on Saturday kicks off at Avenida Plaza in front of the George R. Brown Convention Center at 6 p.m.

The Cougars have reached the national title game twice, losing in 1983 to North Carolina State and in 1984 to Georgetown in the Phi Slama Jama era.
